Save Your Pins Offline
Before you fly, download your destination area in Google Maps and pin a few essentials: your hotel, the airport/train station, a café, a pharmacy, and an easy dinner spot.
You’ll be able to navigate even if Wi‑Fi, roaming, or your SIM doesn’t work yet.
Screenshot the Important Stuff
Then Favourite It
Before you leave, screenshot your booking confirmations, address, check-in details, and any QR codes—then favourite them in your photos.
If your email won’t load or reception drops, you’ll still have everything you need.
Pack a “First 12 Hours” Kit
Keep one small pouch in your carry-on with: charger, meds, toothbrush, deodorant, spare underwear, and a snack.
If your bag is delayed (or you arrive exhausted), you’ll still feel human.
Keep a “Spare Card” Separate
Bring two payment cards and keep one in a different place (not the same wallet/bag).
If one gets lost or blocked, you’re not stuck.
Pack a Tiny Power Board
Bring a small power board (or multi-USB charger) so you can charge everything from one outlet.
Hotel rooms never have enough plugs.
Save Your Hotel Pin
Not Just the Name.
Drop a pin on your accommodation in Google Maps and save it – don’t rely on the hotel name alone.
Names can be similar, but a pin gets you to the right door every time.
Put Your Address in Notes
Save your hotel name + full address in your phone notes, and add a copy in the local language.
If you need a taxi fast, you can just show the screen.
Set a “Landing Day” Rule
Keep your first day light: one easy walk, one meal, early night.
You’ll enjoy the trip more when you’re not fighting jet lag.
A Naming System for Bookings
Rename key emails/files like: PARIS – Hotel – 12–15 Sep and PARIS – Train – 15 Sep.
When you need something quickly, you’ll find it in seconds.
